EEK!

Scary Man!

The Problem

It seems beyond doubt now that climate change is the one of the most critical problem facing humanity.

And it isn't the planet we should be worrying about - it is us.

Sea levels are rising and the weather is becoming more extreme, and it's going to kill, injure or render homeless more and more of us each year.

It also seems beyond doubt that it is the way we are using the planets resources that is contributing to global warming.

But hang on - we have all these luxuries that we are encouraged to use every second of our waking days by non stop marketing bombardment - we are quite literally 'consumers', and, boy, we've never had it so good - so there can't be anything wrong with that can there?

Well, unfortunately, we have been conditioned to consume too much. Practically every aspect of modern life in the developed world is damaging the environment, but we are generally so shielded from that damage that it's easy to ignore it - or not even be aware of it in the first place.

EEK!

But there is always the argument of 'How can anything I do make any difference to such a huge problem?'

Well - that's where EEK! comes in. We believe in the power of numbers.

It's reasonably easy for an individual to cut their personal CO2 'footprint by ½ without affecting their lifestyle drastically.

So persuading someone to make a 5% cut should be a piece of cake - right?

But then the power of numbers comes in - if you multiple that by the million people who might look at this site in a year, and suddenly there's 450,000 tonnes LESS CO2 in the atmosphere, and we really have mad a difference. As EEK! becomes more well known aaround the globe who knows how much difference we can make?

Hmmm - so what can you do?
